September Litter Pick: with SAS and TopUp Truck!
Time & Location
About the Event
We've put some careful thought and preparation into how we can safely continue our litter picks with physical distancing measures in place.
Plastic-Free Hackney are teaming up with Surfers Against Sewage for their UK wide litter picks - or Plastic Protests - during the last week of September. Plastic-Free Hackney have been very cautious about organising events during the past few months, particularly in light of how busy the tow paths have been at points during the pandemic. However, we think this is a time to double our efforts to protect the environment, so with a new physically distanced system in place we'd like to get back to looking after the Lea.
We're also going to be joined by the brilliant TopUp Truck who'll be onhand at the end of the litter pick to provide you with your refills!
As ever, please come dressed in robust outdoor clothes with appropriate footwear (no open toed shoes).
We also request that all volunteers wear face coverings.
Public loos are not readily available. We advise that you 'go' before you arrive ;)
We'll be doing staggered starts - so tickets are available as groups of 5 in 10 minute slots.
We'd also ask that when you arrive you come to the Princess of Wales car park, so as to avoid congestion on the tow path.
Please note that it will be compulsory to book an Eventbrite ticket in advance of coming to the litterpick. You'll find details about how we'll be organising Sunday on the Eventbrite page.
Don't be put off by the formalitites! We so look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
